    Smile For sale: rgv 250 - vj22

Well the time has come to sell my beloved bike. I need the money to buy new riding gear for the other one but I will grab another bike next summer .

Anyway the specs are as follows

    1991 (I think - shall confirm) RGV 250 VJ22 banana swing arm
    De-restricted SAPC
De-restricted exhausts and mufflers ( waaaaaay lighter than the original items!!)
    Modified power valves!
BRAND new clutch - steels, fibres and springs all replaced and done approx 500km. Have receipts if you want

Great looking bike that goes like a cut cat. Very fun to ride!!

Not what I'd call a learners bike, however if you've been a learner for a while, here is a great step up in performance! Although if you've ridden mx bikes for a long time as had I you should get the hang of it reasonably easy

    Top speed - 200km/h !!!

Done 33xxxkm - however last owner said it had been rebuilt at about 29000 however had no receipts. I have had it since about 30000 and it has gone strong ever since with no signs of trouble.
Sad to see it go - $4300ono

Here it is - feel free to ask q's.

That's a pretty sharp price! What was done to the exhaust / mufflers? Are they replacements or were the originals gutted?

Yea its a really good bike and if your after performance its a small price to pay

The exhausts and mufflers are aftermarket items. Can have a look for a brand name if you like? They are very thin and de-restrictive, unlike the originals which are damn heavy! They would look good if you were to attack them with a cloth buffer and some sorta polish. I haven't had time to do this and am too injured at the moment haha.

The original items are known to cause major problems. Here is a little info
The power valves are the Achilles heal on the rgv the pin tends to go brittle or worn and eventually break or fall out, The valve then drops down and goes straight into the barrel causing a right mess.
Basically the ones in there are modified to not have this problem like the originals. I have not pulled them out, but the previous owner assured me they were the modified (strengthened) ones. He was a very genuine guy so should be no problems.

    Shall check the exhausts tonight!

where opinion holds more weight than fact.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

    OK

    The bike is a 1991 VJ22A

The exhaust cans have a small nameplate on them saying 'JMCA.' Can't see any on the expansion chambers. They may well be sugaya as they do make them for the rgv and look very much the same as these. Anyway they sound great and are lighter than stock thats for sure

I know how they work Thats what worries me with the word "modified"

So, are they just strengthened powervalves or are they welded open?

yea when I say modified I mean they are not the crappy original Suzuki ones. They are after market ones designed to be psychically stronger. Can't say i've heard of them being welded open . They work fine, you can hear them go thru their cycle about one sec after it starts
