    Storing bike gear at Uni

    Hi

Does anyone bike to Massey Uni Albany? What do you do with your jacket, boots and helmet? I asked at the ASA about lockers but they don't look big enough to store all the gear.
    TIA

I found that you can generally get everything except your helmet into the locker.

This didnt bother me much as I could lock the helmet to the bike. Wasnt to good on wet days though but I didnt really care.

lockers at auckland arent big enough for helmets, some lock theirs to the lockers (but this aint a great idea if you're in the narrow corridors as they get knocked into), i just used the helmet lock on my bike and a waterproof cover over the helmet when it was wet

I tried the lockers at first but gave up in the end. Its hard to cram everything in there, and when you're running between the main campus and the lower one its quicker to just carry it with you.

Have you tried asking one of the receptionist/student help centre/office peoples ? it may not be as possible in auckland uni but i do it everyday at palmy massey ,just put it under the student help centre's woman desk and pick it up when im finished lectures.

Smile Thank you all for your advice

I think my best option is going to be to ask if I can store the gear under a desk somewhere.

Hi, just an update on this thread

My Shoei Raid II helmet and Ixon jacket fit into one locker, I'm grateful that I don't have to lug them around anymore

    I go to massey albany.

Wear the boots, coz they are comfy, the jacket goes in the locker, and the helmet is locked on the bike or if it is raining I carry it with me.

    Option 2:

Carry a pad Lock with you and lock your stuff in the recreation centre, where the lockers are twice the size of those in the QB building. they should fit properly in those ones. Downside is that you have to walt to the Rec centre.

    Cheers

The other lockers, the ones closer to Alfred St, are big enough to fit helmets. However they seem slightly shorter. May just be my imagination.

Now that I've discovered I can fit my trou over the top of my boots, I just leave the boots on. Makes some more space in the locker -- good idea if you're sharing a locker with a girl. Not the most comfortable off the bike, though -- these boots aren't made for walking
