Dirtbike carrier for buckets?

So I've just sold one of my bikes, with the intention of buying a car and getting in to bucket racing.

I have enough space to store a bucket but not enough for a trailer. There is no possible way for me to keep a trailer at the flat.

So I was wondering about a towbar dirt bike carrier - something like this: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/moto...-781685920.htm

Does anyone use these for carting buckets around, or know of anybody who does? I'm wanting to find how how easy it is and whether there's anything to look out for....

Still curious whether people have used this for a bucket. If not maybe I need to see if one can be made which will do a bucket...

Yep they will work great for buckets, I had a home built one for a while until I built my trailer.

I made one like that for my 1983 Honda Accord hatchback. Worked a treat. I didn't need the ramp as the bike was light enough to lift onto the rail.

A hundy cents maybe. I 'borrowed' the materials from my employer and did it on my lunch brake.

As has been said, it has been done plenty.

A mate used to load and kart an FXR in the back of a Honda Odyssey, so there are also sorts of options.

Maybe you don't have enough for a traditional trailer but have you looked at one of the fold away trailers? Something like this http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/trai...-782079964.htm or http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/trai...-663300648.htm (note these are just a couple of examples). A mate has a small section a swears by his one to cart his larger race bike around on.

Love the idea of those foldable trailers. Not sure I could get them into our garage, petty steep dirt drive with a foot heigh concrete lip. Also pretty pricy.

Good to know it's been done - time to get the car and bucket and get going... Anyone got a $1k to 1500 race ready fxr? Doesn't have to be the fastest on the track...
