Just causght the tail end of the terry Clarke doco on the toob.
Anyone have any idea what became of tha house he was having built up in the bay of islands? Sort of a fortress with secret passages and escape tunnels and so on?
I recall it wa only semi-completed at the time of his arrest.

I vaguely recall seeing it all finished and owned by a slightly more respectable member of society on one of those home show things on the tv. Looked pretty damned flash, too.

There was a book written about the Mr.Asia situation way back in the late 70 early 80's,bought it when in Auckland doing tech course in 1980/81?

Had a guy in our class from Wellington whose boss was into drug market,and drug scene at time and said the boss of the industry was a mean mofo.Told us some bad shit that narks recieved,his boss was a bit worried as he was in reasonably deep with the syndicate.

Was told of some things that had happened at the time,thought he was talking bullshit,due to my naievity at time,but after reading the books and watching docos since,most was true.

Yep remember hearing about that another time on a doco,think it was Marc or Todd Hunter or Hewson who was good mates with the top brass.

The Hunter boys were pretty hard out with the ole drugs from what I've heard.
Yes the house is still there, finished now obviously. It is on a very prominent point at Opua and if you go out on a boat into the BOI, you go right past it. It does have a tunnel from the house to a boatshed built down by the rocks. And it was built to be an escape route.

it didnt say last night but i saw on another docco that he was murdered in the can by the IRA by one of them sitting on his chest as he was held down so he couldnt breathe
