Take it you're talking about Playground Battle. Yeah man, it's good stuff, all their albums are.
Went to The Feelers concert last time they were touring (with Opshop) in May 2004. One of the best concerts I've been to, and was only $27. They're touring again around the start of 2005. Fully reccommend going to the concert!
Not sure what the schedule is, but I think they're in Wellington on 8 January.

yea i went to that concert when they were playing in palmy.
they were realy good. The lead singer tried to stage dive off a speaker and whent arse up into the front of the crowed and not onto them.

i think he was realy drunk tho.

Nice, not sure if he was drunk in Wellington, was a little bit under the influence myself.

Yeah the first 2 albums are a lot better than the 3rd one (which has been out for ages so it's hardly 'new'). It seems as if they had no new material & decided it was time for an album anyway.

We saw them live in the Opera Bar & virtually no one turned up. It was great, they are great live so we went to the last one at the starlight full of anticipation.

It was crap, we left before the encores were done. The acoustics were so bad in there (I’m not a sound person so excuse if I’m using the wrong terms) but even I could tell they had the bass up waaay too loud & you could hardly hear the vocals. As a result he was over stretching his voice & after a few songs was way off key. It must have been embarrassing.

Thoroughly disappointed. Don’t think I’ll go to another concert there.

I am/was... the reason that happens is because the stupid mixer was probaby spending too much time getting the mix right for the monitors and not worried about front of house...
or he was a complete dick because, no matter what it sounds like FOH, the singer still should be able to hear perfectly well thru said monitors and not be overwhelmed by FOH therefore singing properly...

but after reading the other posts... maybe he was just pissed

and some bass players are half-deaf and like turning themselves up to the level of guitars... ok if you're Flea from RHCP, sux if you're not.... I used to spend half my mixing time turning down bassists and guitarists that were competing with each other...(but you turn up their foldback and they have no idea they were quiet FOH)

I felt the third album was fairly decent and added to the good stuff offered in the first two.
Opshop, who they're touring with again, also have a few good tunes, and I've enjoyed listening to their album.
(The last concert in Wellington was at The Starlight Ballroom - bit of a dive.)

Yeah the venue is lots of flat surfaces & just doesn't suit bands.

I prefer their first album but the new one is great also.
Those who insist on perfect safety, don't have the balls to live in the real world.
