Full leathers

There is a pair of Dainese full leathers and a pair of Spool leathers on Trademe at the mo, both in good nick and reasonably new, and probably at a price I can consider. I cant afford brand new at the mo, so any comments on the 2 brands? I have Spool Cordura, and cant really complain, but dont think it is the best available.

I am guessing that the Dainese would be better. Depends on their age and condition though.

As said it depends on age/usage etc... If they are both same price and condition - Get the Dainese! They are normally twice the price of a set of Spools and are one of, if not, the best leathers out there!

Remember Dainese fit small. It may pay to go up a size on what you would normally wear or at least attempt to try them on first. My measurements would suggest a size 54 but I need a 56 from Dainese.

lol fucken arse they are, the most expensive yes but build quality is crap, I would crash in Mine any day of the week 5 times in a row, Dianese would blow on the first bin. Spool would Blow on the way to the track in the back of the van.
Got to love their marketing department though.

mate they arent the same spec or even close to the same spec as what racers wear. Im my opinion I think they are stupidly over priced, and I stand by what I say.

Dainese suits (not all of them) also require you to buy there boots cause of the cuts around the legs

Pro-Tech and T-Age both support "in" boots but work fine with normal boots such as Sidis. Can't comment on the others but I would have thought most of the suits were the same.

Well I would buy the Dainese if it is one of their topshelf suits and respectfully disagree with Quasi. (assuming they are in good condition) I have tested Dainese and although their cheaper suits are probably not as good as the ones I wore, mine came out with good results.

Forgot to say I wore Talos IV (retail about 1900 quid in the UK), I saw a mate bin in these hard too and the leathers (and him) came out pretty perfect. Their good suits are really good!!

Agree 100%. I have a yellow/black Pro-Tech (matches my bike by an interesting fluke) and a friend has a white T-Age (the stormtrooper suit) and both are beautifully made and have heavy armouring where needed. I personally witnessed the T-Age take a big slide down the road and it only had some light scuffing to show for it. Each to their own opinions on the internet I guess.

build quality is crap

not being at all sceptical here Quasi, what with you being the distributor for a different brand and all, but what are you basing this on? Have you crashed in Dainese or had first hand experience of a suit failing in its job? I wont disagree that Dainese is expensive, whether or not its worth the money I guess comes down to the individual rider and what budget they are on. I will say though that the quality of the Dainese leathers I have seen is very good and I also know of people that have crashed in them without any damage to themselves. And yes, like any manufacturer they have their high and lower spec items, and of course sponsered racers get their own specially designed suits that are better than what mortals like us can buy off the shelf. I do, however, think labeling them crap on a public forum without a bit more solid information is a bit unfair.
