Sounds like you need a streaming service like Spotify, Tidal, Qoboz or Apple music streamed off your phone via bluetooth to a suitable receiver.
I've got about a thousand albums on my PC and stream them over wifi to wherever... controlled by my phone... plus Spotify. You can buy CD quality and better online and stream them direct to your hard drive.
Yeah, sounds about right. The CD quality stuff, buy it from where? Copy it to your PC? What format, MP3?
I see several of those 100w AV receivers support MP3. Seems to be some ambiguity about MP4 protocols for audio synonymous with previous format wars...
Do I get to be grumpy about having already purchased my favorite music is at least 3 previous formats?
Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon
Hey if you want to go a bit different, you could always go the car audio way... PC PSU or any decently powered 12v supply to power, headunit, amp, (subwoofer if you like some doof doof) & you should be golden![]()

If you subscribe to a streaming service you never get a real copy of the files. You can download a file from Spotify to listen to when not online but when you unsubscribe it disappears... there may be cheats I'm unaware of. Tidal has CD quality and I think Quoboz does too but i don't think they're available in NZ yet so you have to use something like Hola to fool them. When I tried Tidal I had a few issues so didn't proceed. It''ll come soon The others are MP3 based. Spotify has a free option at reduced bitrates.
Increasingly commonly you can buy a CD quality download of an album from the artist or label. Instant gratification is a wonderful thing.
You can buy Hi Res downloads from a variety of sources. Like HDtracks.
File type is becoming less of an issue as electronic devices get more capable of reading them all. I use FLAC and at a max bitrate of 96 24 because that's the max my system can stream around the house. My Blu Ray player streams and decodes it for my home theatre. TV's can do it, receivers can do it, and no doubt speakers will do it too... if not now then tomorrow.
There are no credits for previous purchases on earlier formats... unfortunately.
Edited to add. Just opened up the ap i use on my phone to control the home theatre and it proudly announces that it now integrates with Quoboz and Tidal. So I can get them through Hola on my PC and the ap will let the Bluray player stream it off the internet... possibly... changes every damn day.
