This is my favourite record by far this year. Come for the fuzzed out 70's proggy/bluesy vibe (early Black Keys when they were good, say), stay for the lyrics. You'll likely have to look em up.... the vox are pretty buried but the sentiments shine through.
Bonus: the entire album is the soundtrack to this anime thing that is on Netflix. Line-dancing samurai! muscle cars! explosions! cartoon boobies! revenge!

Tom Petty.
After years of ripping the piss out of my Canadian wifes love of country (imagine her trying to listen to it and me replacing lyrics with stuff about loving your sister while yeehawwing occasionally), I recently found and artist I really enjoy listening to.
Luke Combs, here's the gateway song I first noticed as the video clip was hilarious as well as the lyrics
I used to say, "I'm not a country fan but..." Then one day it occured to me I had a few too many country albums to say that any more. The industry is racist as Hell but there are some people that aren't, and there's a lot of talented artists on the treadmill. Zac Brown, Brad Paisley, Chris Stapleton for openers. Brown and Strapleton both won Best New Artiist awards after multiple decades on the road. Stapleton already had several Grammies for songs he'd written that others had made famous.
Best New Arist must have a slightly different meaning in country music.
And that was a good track.

Its a sad day. Was at an 80s gig a few weeks back with my mates band playing, listening to him shred it to Beat it (he's an insanely good guitarist) was awesome, considering as the story goes that it was just Van Halen jamming it goes to show his talent. One of the best guitarists of our time for sure.
