Some people are only alive because it is illegal to shoot them.

OK, I've been avoiding buying this recording for a long time because it was recorded in mono on a cassette recorder and the sound quality isn't that great.

But I finally got it for a tenner and I'm like, well, why not.

Its great. The Velvet Underground Live at Max's Kansas City is a pretty much accidental recording of the last two sets tht Lou played with the Velvets. The lineup is Doug Yule, Serling Morrison, Lou Reed, and a 17 year old schoolboy Billy Yule (Doug's younger brother) subbing for Moe Tucker (who had just had her first baby) on drums.

Its really really good. OK, I'm a fan and kind of a Velvets obsessive, but honestly this really has blown me away. Mix of LOADED stuff and WHITE LIGHT/WHITE HEAT stuff plus the second set goes all the way back. I like this version of "Lonesome Cowboy Bill" a lot, plus the version of Some Kind of Love on it.

Enjoy: Our neighbours have been. and if they didnt they can get fucked.
