    Starting problem with my FXR

OK, every morning I have to push start 3 times (or more) to start the bike.

I'm not sure whats the problem but its either the Carb or Elec problem.

Now, this evening after work, I bump started (ofcourse) and went on my way home. But tonight, the bike seems to cough below 5,000rpm!

So, who wants to take my bike for a night and try and started in the mornings to see whats the problem? I don't want to take it to Colemans Suzuki...

    Txt or PM

P.S. I think I need to replace my carb. I dunno.

Wasn't the carb falling off before? Check it's securely attached. Apparently the little round screw-clamp thing that goes over the rubber boot magically came undone last time -- perhaps it comes undone with vibrations over time.

OK, the bike is not starting.

It needs to be loaded or towed to be moved. The bike is in Albany.

    send txt for more info

Damn, I'm keen as to help, unfortunately I have no clue

However I had the 'coughing' problem you described - the SV was sitting before I got it, it turns out carbs were WAY out of Sync (but obviously that's not your problem here).

You might want to try running a few tanks of "Fuchs Carb clean" (available at Mt Eden Mc). Basically you add a bit to your fuel when you fill up and it cleans the shit out of the carb.

Thats it, my patience has ended. I'm taking it to a workshop.

P.S. The airbox was (again) filled with petrol. I drained it out but still it wont start

Don't mean to sound like an arse, but we're talking almost identical symptoms to last time. Have you checked the carb is securely attached and there's no leaks in the manifold?

I was wandering about that too

The carb is securely attached but I think the carb's inside is broken or something. Meh I dunno...

The bike is in Colemans Suzuki. It's not touched (no bill atm) so it is possible to be picked up from the Workshop anytime

yes, FXR does have a kick start but someone tried to steal it some nights ago hence broken kick starter.

It can be bump started tho (well... not anymore)
