OK. This surplants the other thread. PLEASE READ and let me know if you have any questions.
Ok… The Wellington KB – Christmas BBQ. below are the rules of engagement and a map. I'm sorry about the rules but I've had a lot of questions and this seemed the simplest way. If you have a problem or think I'm being an arsehole (again) please let me know. We want this to be a great night!
When: – Saturday, 27th November from 4pm onwards. If you want to come earlier and help with set up, let me know.
Where: – Paul and Vickis house.
Who: - All KB’ers and their families. It's ok to bring a partner or a friend or 2 but please don't abuse this offer. If they act up, I'll get WT to give them the learn....
What: - Bring the usual BBQ supplies. We will supply a BBQ, paper plates etc, some staples such as breads and some salads etc. Please provide your own tipple! If you have some sort of special diet, please let me know in advance and bring enough to poison others as well.
Weather:- There could be a few people. If it's fine, no problem. If it rains we will use the Garage as well.
House Keeping: - This is a KB Xmas BBQ. You are ALL most welcome and it will be treated as an open house event. Our house is a home and we are not overly anal about carpets / footware and stuff BUT, I will be expecting people to use your commonsense! Leave your smelly old bike boots dripping in oil at the door!
Kids: - I like kids! (especially toasted) They are great fun and warmly invited for no other reason than to provide parents with a bad example to traumatize their kids with. Stop fiddling with yourself boy or you will grow up looking like Paul. (usually does the trick) However, please don’t expect me to entertain them, mine have left home long ago (I wouldn’t entertain them) and remember that this is a bike oriented event! People will drink and get loud! (I hope) Please look out for your little ones yourself, when they get tired and grumpy, it might be best to take them home to bed! We have a big garden and they can go wild!
The Dog: - Bo had a back injury when she was little, if we don’t get her into the kennels, don’t let your kids sit on her. She will nip them, shes old and grumpy (like me). She poohs all over the place outside. I’ll get the obvious ones but get you kids to check their shoes eh?
Sleep Over?: - We have 2 spare single and a double. XJ/Frosty has dibs on one already. First in first served. Couches and floors available, I’ll have cereal with bananas for breakfast please after you have vacuumed!
Drinking: - Yes!
Smoking:- Outside only please.
Recreational Drugs: - Not for me and at your own risk BUT if I see you using near any kids I will ask you not to. Once!
Music:- Well I call it music… Some people don’t! despite what Mangel6 thinks I have a wide selection of many different styles. I favor Alt Country, Blues and Soul.
• Bring a fave CD if you like (no bloody hip hop rap shite) but I think we can safely say I can fill the average evening.
• If you want a Kareoke (whatever) then talk to Mike. As long as he can get it there we will find a spot.
• If you want to bring instruments and can play. Form a separate thread and lets make up a scratch band.
Parking:- Bikes down the drive and into the garage. Some car parking down the drive. Please leave the drive clear for people carting stuff in and out. It’s a narrow cul-de-sac so parking is at a premium
Help: It would be nice if someone local can help with.
1 - An extra BBQ and implements,
2 - Extra outdoor tables / chairs etc.
3 - Extra Chilly bin and ice for drinks
4 - Speaker extension cable?
Transport: If you are comming up from town by train we can do a pick up from the station and a taxi back (to the station) is bugger all. Best is to organise a group and hire a shuttle back to town. Again, a seperate thread?
General;- Crap! What a lot of rules for a stupid BBQ? It’s all commonsense really; there could be a lot of people there so we just need to make sure we all have FUN (and we will)
Phew!
See Ya there or Be Square. Feel free to post here if you are a comin' so we get an idea of the numbers.
