I really enjoy the kaimais or the back roads on the southern side of lake karapiro.
however my favorite rides are Paekakariki hill, Akatarawa road and the rimutaka hill. now those are some trick rides.![]()

I used to go very often out piha/Huia(Whatipu)/Anawhata/Bethells. Never seen a cop on there, ever. Great roads, especially out past the inhabited areas.....

Once at wellsford,head north through te-hana take the first road on the right and follow it to waipu.Then you can brave the flocks ofup sh1 to oakliegh,turn left down the mangapai rd,then left down the road to paparoa,back to sh1 then back to wellsford.....Good ride.
