Where do you ride

Went out to Piha on the weekend which had some good windys, although road is very narrow in the begginning with lots of blind corners (trees and banks on the inside of almost every corner).

Best of all you can go for a swim, work on the tan, and generally just perv at the chicks that were swimming in thin white t-shirts!! :love2:

Nice, Piha ride sounds like a good option.....just the long haul to get out into the open along Titirangi road.

The annoying thing with living in central auckland is the ammount of time it takes to get to the open road.

but all these roads have bends.
cant do those corner things.

i like queen st... traffic light to traffic light, i can even almost beat some of those rice racers in done up early 80's starlets - only if they are automatic of course.

I really enjoy the kaimais or the back roads on the southern side of lake karapiro.
however my favorite rides are Paekakariki hill, Akatarawa road and the rimutaka hill. now those are some trick rides.

this xmas will explor the coro loop... that might change my mind :spudwhat:

I ride on the road, which is good. This one time, at band camp, I rode on the bit next to the motorway. No - not the shoulder - the bit next to that, where you run out of asphalt. And these two times (when not at band camp) I rode on the footpath, which is not the same as when I rode up onto the footpath to parkit. (I've done that numerous times.)

But twice I rode on the track, and many many years ago, when I was a youf, I used to ride on the dirt, the road, the grass, whatever.

And I've ridden on snow twice, which wasn't the time this year when I rode a snowmobile on the snow. That was the bestest.

I used to go very often out piha/Huia(Whatipu)/Anawhata/Bethells. Never seen a cop on there, ever. Great roads, especially out past the inhabited areas.....

Yep,but there's nearly always one somewhere....
Once at wellsford,head north through te-hana take the first road on the right and follow it to waipu.Then you can brave the flocks of up sh1 to oakliegh,turn left down the mangapai rd,then left down the road to paparoa,back to sh1 then back to wellsford.....Good ride.
