    Manfeild Divvo and Kickaha report

I left at about 7am on the Thursday for a fairly uneventful trip though to Welly where I picked up the fat pie eating homo (Divvo) from the airport and shot off around to his sisters where we were staying, unfortunately as he doesn’t get to see them that often this meant staying up until 3.30am in the morning while him and Duncan finished off a few drinks

On the road about 8am and through to Manfeild where we pitted with Steve Bron in the spanky pit sheds, got all the crap unloaded and set up, initially we were going to do the full day practice but I think someone’s hangover got the better of them so we gave the bike a bit of a going over, fitted a new rear tyre and near the end of the day just did a few laps to scrub it in, we were looking to change the gearing but didn’t have the right sprocket so we left that for the morning

Early next morning and great uncle Bulgaria turns up with the front sprocket and we swap that over, Divvo gets kicked off the pit wall by Nasty for having open toed shoes so he converts them with duct tape to fully enclosed models and tries his luck again which results in some comments being made to him about sex and travel

    Practice 1

It’s all feeling good although we’re not pushing it very hard, it’s pushing the front a bit into Coca Cola so I’m trying to get my weight right to spin up the back, Divvo tries a wide line out of Dunlop and about the time we go out over the ripple strip on the outside of the track with me thinking “what the fucks going on” he decides it wasn’t the best idea he’s had all day, practice is red flagged with Des James stopped on the back straight with his brakes seized on, we finish that session 7th fastest at 1.23 some 4 seconds slower than the old bike last year

In between practices Divvo has his testicles out showing anyone who’s interested

    Qualifying

We wick it up a bit and knock 4-5 seconds off the practice time which means we’re now faster than on the old bike with less HP, the Wolland’s pass us and then the Lawrence’s and we chase them about for a bit, I’m not getting the timing right for the change over into splash and getting my shoulder hammered into the fairing but apart from that it’s feeling pretty good although we don't improve our grid spot, we give it a check over, gas it up and the waiting starts

    Race 1

We get a good start, but the Lawrence’s go around us into Coca Cola and we hang ontothe back of the pack for the first couple of laps, the Wollands are just in front and 666 is all over the back of us for a couple of laps before we drop them off, Leighton has slowed and we pull past him only to have him catch back up and pass us a couple of laps later the hairpin seems to be our worst corner we can stay with everyone everywhere else on the circuit but we loose a bike length every time we come through there and come home in 8th

We toss it up on the stands, give it a spanner check and bugger off to get some food and have a sleep

    Sunday

    Race 1

Another good start, but the Lawrence’s ride around the outside of us again but we keep the Wolland’s behind us, they make the pass into Higgins and the chase is on a couple of laps later they get a bit loose out of Coca Cola and we ride around then outside into splash, they’re right on our tail exiting the hairpin but can’t make the pass, I give Burt and Tim the thumbs up and get a wave in return a couple of laps later I look behind and they’ve dropped right off with a dying engine so they park up in the infield along with a couple of guys on a yellow outfit

I’ve finally got the body position right and are getting the outfit to light up as we turn into both Coca cola and Higgins so it wont push the front to much, we can see Vince and Adam in front but we can’t haul them in and after a couple of other DNF we come in 6th

Upholding the reputation as oil leaking bastards Pete the Pom spreads a bit around the track after a chain coming off the day before damages his engine cases causing the organisers to call lunch break while they clean up

We decide before we go out we’ll do this race with a nut holding the front sprocket on as someone seems to have taken ours while we weren’t looking

    Race 3

Nothing wrong with our starts and we’re in amongst the front bunch for a lap or two before we get dropped off Brain/Darren are all over the back of us again but we slowly pull away, without the Wolland’s to play with we have a pretty lonely race for 7th place

Overall a pretty good weekend, our 4th meeting on the new outfit and even with it down on HP we’re lapping faster than the old one at every circuit we’ve been to, It’s taken me a bit but I’ve just about got the feel for the outfit and what I can make it do on the back to help Divvo on the front, our lap times are more consistent and we’re not getting as tired but that might change once we dial it up a bit

It felt really weird sitting at home knowing you were on the track.... I am so used to be there with you.

Great to know that you are consistently doing better times in the new chair... I reckon it will only get better and better the longer Dave has the chair.

Even better to have you come home with only half the bruises on your body than what the old chair used to give you...

Onwards and upwards.... bring on Puke.

Hmm, maybe that's the problem he does not drink!

However will say he heals super fast! One week and they will be gone.
