Yup. Don't turn that twisty thing on the end of righthand bar.

Hold the throttle more lightly. Imagine it as a giant, erect nipple thrusting outwards from the steering head, which you must tweak with infinite precision.

    Works for me...

And now anyone who wonders why I occasionally fall off in corners and lie in the road with a beatific smile under my visor needs wonder no more.

Oh yeah. Don't forget to lead with your shoulder. Point the appropriately-sided shoulder where your eyes are looking, and the bike will usually be conned into going that way.

    That's the one.

It's been a while since anyone told me any proper techniquey things, so I just mentally visualised it, and it felt shoulder-ish.

At this point I am not entirely failed of words but am unsure for whom or what to feel the most pity: Your own sorry self; your newly-acquired Zeal; or Mrs Random. The good news, limited that it is, is that you are not an obstetrician.

Yeah, don't copy my show pony antics. I'm just too much of a girls blouse to lean the bike particuarly far.

Sometimes I drop my inside shoulder a smidgen, if I'm not trying to get off the bike for a corner.

Somehow the ground feels that much closer, and I can tell my nervous little reptilian brain that it won't hurt as much if I fall off, as I won't have as far to fall.

So do you *actually* ride your bike?

Or is it a purely a socially acceptable reason for you to wear leather goods in public, and explain away the bruises to family members and work colleges?

Not my fault - that's the bike - not much top-end (actually seems to need some tweaking - I think I might have a slipping clutch or something, cos it wasn't running as well as when I went to Taupo ... Hmmmm - Oh well - Red Baron can sort it out over next weekend)

Had an absolute blast meeting you guys - Nice food - though would be nice to get somewhere a little easier for the fussy devils among us "I won't eat Ducks Livers" - wuss! (j/k)

The end was weird - I knew that Mike was gonna go off on his own, and then Zapf made that weird turn to follow him leaving two of us to make a weird U-Turn (my 3rd moment of the day {bastard UAV driver} - no bins though) ... I had a GREAT time - thanks - will organise another slow ride in the new year (probably something like Coromandel Loop) ...

Special Mention goes to Pap for wearing that shirt and teaching me how to counter-steer to get the bike going the way I want it to.
Oh - and also to everyone for waiting for me on the ride back ...

    Yokai
    Yokai,
Heheh... sorry for that weird turn, just wondering what the others up to thats all. To stand the bike up more quickly and be ready for the next turn you can give it a bit of gas, then it'll stand up more quickly. And you should also go do the BRONZ course as well, damm good for learning to ride.

Attached is a file that might help u with some questions and riding.
