    FOR SALE: SV650 Race/Road bike

    UPDATED on 2/5/07. Quick update.

I'm selling my my SV650 race/road bike. It still has all the road gear and the WOF reg expired on it last month. Plates are still alive of course. I'm the second owner and brought it off a lady that brought it over here when she came from the UK.
The speedo is in miles and from memory has 20000 on it. This bike is a 1999 model and is not in pristine condition by any means but I have always done plenty of oil filter changes (obsessively really) because it gets ridden hard on the track.

The carbed versions of this bike are very competitive in F3 but the injected ones have the edge. Just look at the likes of Glen Williams, SVS, Paul Booth, or Jason Nairns results (all ride carbed SVs)

This bike has had no development on the motor except for the addition of an ignition advance key (standard mod for this year bike). The jets are standard 137.5. Also the automatic camchain tensioners have been replaced with manual ones

The bike has had all the necessary stuff done to it to pass MNZ scrutineering. eg Catchtank, lockwiring and gycol removed.

    Racebits on bike are.

Racetec Gold valve cartrige emulators in forks.
OHLINS rear shock with Hydraulic preload adjuster.
    Minimalist steel rear subframe
    Alloy Front subframe
    GSXR race fairing and Racetail.
    Full Yohimura exhuast
    Crashbungs and spares
25mm up and back rearsets and spares
    Racestands back and front
4 front and two rear sprockets to give good gearings for most tracks.
Has RS250 revcounter fitted but to be honest you don't really need a revcounter.
Spare rear 5.25" ZXR rear wheel with carrier and sprocket etc fitted with 180 wet in almost new condition.

    Road Bits.

    Complete yellow road fairings
Front and rears subframes undertray etc (unmodified)
    Original standard exhaust system
    Original reasets and footpegs.
    Mirrors , indicators.
Standard 525 oring chain and spockets
    spare set of original clippons.

Bike currently has a GSXR frontend fitted which buyer has option to buy as well as other bits like tyrewarmers, wets and slicks all extra .

Bike will be at the Kiwirider SUZUKI trackday on the 9th of June for prospective buyers to veiw.

yes, but did you have to quote it...

i'm almost considering selling my mighty R6 to get this, but i can just see myself crashing out and not having a way to get around during the week.

Surely someone will snap it up, i would if had $6.5k lying around.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

Sorry Bret (with one t right) just figured out what the PT was at the bottom of this (Please Text).

Well the bikes still for sale due to the fact not one solitary soul showed any interest in it. Its seems everyone already knows these bikes are crap for F3 racing. Maybe I'll just put on the road gear and sell it on Trademe.

6.5K was what I was dreaming it might be worth. Knocking 1K off might be getting close to realistic.

Garry-It might be an idea to give me a price on the race gear.I might have some buyers lined up for it all

Its the bike a wanna sell to upgrade. I'd prefer the buyer to race it. If it doesn't sell I'll upgrade next season. The GSXR front end is no longer available to the buyer.

Soon I wont need to sell it to upgrade and maybe it would be good to see what the 2007 models like. If I have to give it away I might as well keep it.

Gezz can't believe I've been trying to sell this bike for almost a year.
Price is dependent on what parts you want i.e Front end with two GSXR front wheels with disks or just Standard front end with Racetec Emulators. Surely there must be someone out there that wants a reasonably competitive F3 racebike. Rego runs out on the 4/06/2007 can be put back on the road in a day.

If I don't get any interest in the next two weeks its going back on the road for good. Has manual camchain tensioners on it now.
