Rummaging through the other photos in there I notice Gareth Jones doesn't have a front mudguard.

Is there a reason for that (weight saving...)?

At the riders breifing, didn't they mentioned something about bikes having to have them on regardless?

I think they only said supersport cause its in the rules, not sure about superbikes. I would have taken mine off but needed it for the front wheel speed sensor.

I have no axe to grind re brand preferences and in my 30 years in the trade I have worked on all brands of motorcycles. But thankfully not the very dodgy stuff coming out of mainland Asia. Let me give you a reality lesson...without the enormous amount of effort that Suzuki NZ put into road racing it would be little better than club level at the nationals, FACT. And it is great that Yamaha have stepped up to the mark to party with them, throw in Hayden Fitz on the Honda.
Another fact, Suzuki NZ started their test programme way way before the Yamaha guys and to his immense credit Craig Shirriffs did nearly all the donkey work during many days of testing, Robbie jumped on a bike that we set up with almost identical settings and said it was quick and raceable straight away.
You get back what you put in. Not so sh....x after all.....

    Hook, line and sinker Patch.

    Nice one

Let me assure you Rob, Patch is a hard core "S" man. At last he better fucken be, working on my bike and all

But credit where credit's due, Mr Bugden has performed faultlessly all year. 8 wins from 8 starts so far, two races to run next weekend. Let's hope for some rain I reckon.

I'm just fucking stoked there's coverage of motorcycle racing in the herald. Was Robbie carrying an oval ball under his arm or something?

It would be a brave or stupid man who bet against it.

Your pick if it's brave or stupid, not saying much.

Not that it would matter if he won or not eh.
