Ah, I see. It takes a dumb-arse to catch one? Is this official policy, or are the troops allowed to decide how dumb they want to be?
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

According to the cops down on the west coast its not a pursuit unless the person being chased is aware of the fact. This was as stated by an Inspector of police when interviwed after the Buller Gorge incedent.

Ya lost me there - where did imply it took 'a dumb-arse to catch one?'

Or are you just being obtuse??

Not I. You can't seriously think that u-turning on double yellows is an intelligent thing to do?

Most sections of the passing lanes in that area are single yellow on the double (passing) lane side.

Nothing wrong with Subaru Justys! Check out the one they have at Crowe Sport here in Chch - lovely little rally car.

    They do quarter miles too:

They'd be an ideal pursuit car, I can imagine dozens of them, each with one of those little blue bacons from the '70s on the roof, heehaw sirens blaring and chasing after John Aykroyd and John Belushi, crashing into piles of cardboard boxes, through shop windows and into each other.
That'd give the cops their respect back!!

By this explanation you can do a runner and when caught claim that you did not know that you were being pusued. Interesting..................

HELL NO! Damn speeder would get away. They just jam the brakes on, turn the wheel if no cars are coming the other way.

    Freeking dangerous coonts.
Hell they don't even worry about cars coming the other way, my son had to lock up to avoid one.

God I used to love doing handbrake turns when I worked for the gummint and they provided a car. I'm not allowed to do them anymore
