OEM air cleaners!!

This follows your DIY post about Para Rubber.

But OK, I guess I should have mentioned DIY a second time rather than just the words "cleaning an air filter" which I thought implied DIY.

And I am not implying that commercial methods - taking your filter to get it cleaned by a business - would not work. BTW, my interest in this topic comes from a friend who is really short of $$ and he told me it costs him around $120 to replace the two filters on his VS700.

There was a post on KB a while back about DIY filters in the maintenence section. You can also get air filtration foam through motorcycle outlets. Uni-Filter. Some KBers have mentioned they use this in the same way I've used the foam available from Para Rubber.

Has your friend considered other avenues besides local outlets? There may be a saving on OEM items by buying from the USA including postage. In saying that, around $60 per filter sounds farely standard OEM pricing here. Also EMGO have a front and rear air filter available for the VS700.
