    refilling gearbox oil

Should my bike be leaning over on its side stand while I drain and refill the gearbox or standing straight up?

My bike, (1983 rg250) only has a side stand so if I have to fill it while its standing up I guess I'll have to get someone to sit on it. (it doesnt have a centre stand)

    cheers

I probably should add that it has a oil level screw. Therefore if the bike is leaned over it will read differently than when standing up

Dunno how the gearbox drain plug is situated, but I put my bike on the side-stand when draining the sump oil to get as much of the dirty shit out as possible. On the centre-stand, some still sits at the bottom. Put it back on the centre-stand when refilling to make my life a little easier, though.
