I don't count refusal to pay exorbitant ACC levies and therefore not registering a bike as 'criminal'.

But somehow I don't think this spyware isn't gonna differentiate between the degrees of lawbreaking.
So what would you do if you got pulled up in a normal situation?

And to that end, the introduction of this will see further Police resources directed at inconsequential offences, away from serious ones. That is to say, they'll be so busy writing out tickets for people with no current vehicle licence or evidence of inspection that other offences will go undetected, such as removing the tolerance from speeding means they'll already be on the side of the road with a 2km/h over the limit customer as I pass by at 135km/h, talking on the cellphone and eating a burger.

It will bring in a real revenue stream for the government and allow them to lay off more police due to the efficiencies of this system and to help offset the cost. They wouldn't employ this technology if it wasn't going to pay for itself.

I have only been through ONE rego and warrant check in the last 5+ yrs...and BTW I never said my bike wasn't registered, it was merely a general observation.

Which is exactly what you'll do with this new technology. The camera itself doesn't hand out the fine, an officer nearby as a part of the operation is dispatched to pull you over.

Paula Rhodes, on Morning Report this morning, when asked about WoF checks, stated it would NOT be used for low level offending such as that, the "bar has been set much higher" and the cops in the cars would not have access to that part of the database*.

    Yeah, Right.

*Not yet, anyway. Wait until the bugs are ironed out, and a few 'revenue projections" have been run.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

The old bill in Little River ( the old one ) has this installed

He even popped in to remind me when my Rego was up ( 3 times )

He knew where I was most of the time , even if I didn't
