Robbing banks is so hard these days...

    From the NZ Herald

Man apprehended after robbing Queen St bank
    New 4:59PM Wednesday Jun 10, 2009

A man alleged to have used a screwdriver to rob a central Auckland bank on Wednesday was caught by police a short distance away.

The robbery happened at the National Bank branch in Queen St just before 2pm, when a lone male presented a screwdriver at staff.

Police said the offender made off with a significant amount of cash.

However, shortly afterwards, a person fitting the description of the robber was apprehended not far from the bank, and a screwdriver and an amount of cash were located.

No one was hurt in the incident and detectives were speaking to the man.

Bank staff are instructed to give a robber anything they want.

When I worked in town, we were told the same thing.
