    Grants Commitee

Well, i just attended our grants interview, we shall know the outcome tomorrow.

We applied for $550 to cover 1/2 the cost of the Ride Right Ride Safe course in June.

Most seemed fine with the proposal, a couple of bastard questions were asked like "why is your membership fee only $1? Couldnt the money be raised by avenues such as membership fees?"

I said we're not exclusive, and while we could charge more, we want to get people involved. That our events dont usually require funding as they dont cost... and that our sponsors dont provide us with cash, they provide members with deals (Tried to push the idea that we're applying for this to make it more affordable for students, and that we're not here to try and take their money)

Sounds promising Steve - you put the case well by the sounds of it.

You're right that the club exists to facilitate, enhance, and advocate for motocyclists and motorcycling issues rather than providing facilities (That'd be the bike, and that'd be BYO).

It would be inequitable to raise RRRS funding from the membership fee when not all members will do the course.

    Cheers for your efforts

That GN has been awesome so far, already both my sister and I have learnt on it and I am sure there are a couple of other people too....

BUT you will have to beat my sister to it!
Haha she is SOOOO keen for a bike of her own now. And because of her size the GN actually looks like a decent sized cruiser on her.
