Please be careful on loose metal.

Today one of my closest friends died driving to school. She wasn't a biker, but knew how to ride and I remember her telling me of how her father told her she was a natural on a motorbike only a few days ago.

She was one of the most sensible, most careful people I knew and I honestly can't believe she died this morning. It seems she was the cause however, through inexperience - loosing control going around a corner on the loose metal, and colliding (I assume) head on with a 4WD. She was only a few weeks, I believe, away from getting her full licence.

She shouldn't have died. But this is what happens. So please, just take this as a reminder of how dangerous metal roads can be. Be sensible. Know your limits... All that stuff. You've heard it before, you'll hear it again, and I will bet without any doubt that many of you have your own stories. Take it slow on loose metal.
Who, me? I just wander from thread to thread.

Sorry to hear of your friend's death.
And you are right...always pay attention.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Sorry to hear about your friend Livvy. Heard about it on the radio this avo and my thoughts went out to her family and her school friends who were probably waiting for her car to drive into it's parking spot at school, but never arrived (or something like that). Kia Kaha chicky.
