Hi, any qualified motorcycle workshop in New Zealand!
Hi
Servicing or warranty work can be done by any motorcycle workshop in NZ!
Cheers
Hi everyone
servicing or warranty work can be done at any motorcycle workshop in NZ - though obviously i`d would`nt recommend you took a mv agusta to a scooter shop!
Warranties are through Outdoor advantage, part of the orbit financial group and are in many ways better than the manufacturers ones - unlimited claims, each claim limit is value of bike (ie $28000 bike is $28000 limit a claim!) and the workshop working on your bike will not have an axe to grind or be personally losing any money on repairing the bike if they fix it - in fact they`ll be doing everything it needs so they can charge warranty company more money !
Hi don`t know of any sps for sale in Nz at the moment but i can get one for you , e mail me at marquetime@yahoo.co.nz or call me on 04 586 1500 days / 021 236 4689 if you`re keen!
cheers

Not being picky here but isnt this breakdown insurance rather than warranty?
Would for example, fading paint or a rusty bolt be covered?
Why doesnt the manufacturers warranty apply?
And if it all turns to custard does the buyer have the CGA to fall back on?
Like all insurance (especially mechanical breakdown insurance) the owner had better read and understand the fine print
"they`ll be doing everything it needs so they can charge warranty company more money"
Insurance companies and their assessors arent fools. generally speaking of course
cheers
In some cases factory warranty does apply as some manufacturers have a worldwide warranty , however some NZ dealers will deny this as they want to protect their own interests. I offer these warranties free of charge with the new bikes to get over some peoples nervousness about a parallell import and dealers mistreating them because of it (although its ok for them to do it, or sell 07 models as 08s!).
In 5 years i have had 2 problems - a dicky kill switch and a coil shutting down - at that time there were no companies doing motorcycle warranties so i paid for repair myself.
Legally any manufacturer has to carry out recalls on a vehicle regardless of how it arrived in the country so no disadvantages there.
The Warranties i offer are warranties, not breakdown cover, gladly fax or post a copy of the conditions to someone but basically it is: If your motor goes pop and you have service receipts it`ll be replaced or rebuilt as long as it does`nt exceed the original purchase price of the bike, in other words you`ve got $26000 claim limit per claim and unlimited claims on a rsvr factory, and it covers anything mechanical or electrical that is non consumeable. It won`t cover a clutch wearing out after 60000km , or even your motor if you`ve never bothered to get the bike serviced - but then neither will a manufacturers warranty! I agree insurance companies are`nt fools but they`ve still got less of a personal interest then the dealer who sold you the bike - the dealer loses workshop hours and money when he makes a claim (manufacturers warranties do not pay the dealers their full workshop hourly rate so dealers loose money on any warranty work they carry out).
You are right they probably wont pay for a rusty bolt or fading paint but i will if i feel you havent left it outside uncovered for 6 months and never polished it! There is a reason i`m still around after 5 years in a very cut throat business - i look after people! It is also where you get back to the old great leveller - Price!
You can rock into your aprilia dealer and buy a new 2007 Aprilia RSVR Factory with 4 years warranty for $31000 or whatever, or you can buy one off me for
5 or 6 grand less on the road with 3 years warranty - or the normal price of a used one! The end of the day i suppose you ask yourself do you expect to have many problems with your brand new motorcycle anyway and do you expect minor potentially grey area problems like a faded panel or a rusty bolt to cost you the difference in price?
I`ve always found that most people were never concerned about warranties as they were wrapped to be getting a new bike for the price of a used jap import that you know has never been thrashed , rolled or arse-holed by anyone!(apart from yourself!)
Yer pays yer money and you make yer choice!

Which shop / workshop in New Zealand has forked out the $$ to pay for the specialist tools required for a service to the Benelli?
Last time I checked, no one had - and no one was prepared to either. On inquiry, no workshops that I personally contacted were prepared to even touch them (even though the distributor assured me otherwise!)
What changed and when?

When i was supposed to be benelli nz a few years ago i was going to buy the tools required , my understanding then was the unique tools required are valve clearance tool and software for axone diagnostic machine, but when the factory changed hands they gave benelli nz to a australian company (!). Because of the low volume of benellis i have brought in and benelli factory annoying me (!) i did not get the tools, but i dont see any reason why the valve adjustment tool could`nt be made - the lack of axone software in NZ is a worry though if you need to diagnose anything. I have heard that motomart have serviced one in the past. Hopefully the current distributors will give the brand the promotion and backing they need as they are awesome bikes, especially the new tre 1130 - very quick and sounds gorgeous!
Motomart may well have serviced a Benelli in the past, and may well do so in the future, however I am quite clear that they do not have the Benelli toolkit.
What were the problems with vinning the Benelli TNT 1130 Cafe Racer here in NZ last year?
Have these issues been addressed / resolved yet?

I am starting to think about another bike.
When I was looking a couple of years back, and ended up with the 888, I was keen to get something more exotic, like a Tesi or DB.
Are you able to source that kind of gear?
Cheers

Hi
I have`nt experienced any problems complying benellis, but then i suppose i know what i need to do it! Don`t know whose benelli that one was, maybe they did`nt have the correct paperwork or something! Now Benellis are here in NZ through someone else , and the pricing on thems pretty good i doubt i`ll get any more!
