    On other notes:

I took my bike out to my course today in Takapuna. It was great lane splitting through all the traffic, just a warm up for the weekend.

    Hey Guys,
I've just loaded up the beast. Normally I have tent, cookers, kitchen sink etc.
Not requiring a lot of my normal gear, I have two empty panniers.
So, anyone worrying about dunnage, pm me with your Ph. No. and I'll call you.
I have tomorrow off so can uplift whatever from wherever.
Keep in mind though, I will only be with you till Saturday morning.
Suggest only consumables ie: food, oil, booze, as I said 'consumables'.
Don't be shy, I don't mind being the mule if it helps.

    3. Dont leave anything on your bikes unattended - leave your tankbags/luggage at Waitiki. Some of the locals have sticky fingers....
    Or ride down!

It's possible! Take a photo of the lighthouse AND the bike!

P.S. My final note: There is no Cell Phone network on the way to Cape Reinga so take care.

Also, you really CAN ride down to the lighthouse like Justin: link

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

My poor baby has been drippin a little oil at times lately, and this afternoon made a couple of stops on my commute home and she made some horrible backfire/sputter noises when warm-starting a couple of times
Hoping a good run on the open rd will do her some good, she's been cooped up around town too much lately.

Tried to find a new headlight bulb this evening too, and no luck there, so may be riding without low-beams (just a park light)

My poor baby, why do you pick such a time to do this to me?

Mine did this for a bit; Does is seem to be dripping from behind the actual engine? (e.g away from the engine; closer to the back wheel.) For me a small amount of oil was dripping out of the air filter (who knows why?) just unscrew the side and get rid of some of the excess and it should stop (did for me!). Worth a look see if nothing else.

Not sure on what style filter the gn's use, but if they us a foam filter then air filter oil is used to catch the dirt so it doesn't pass through the filter, that could have been what was dripping out of your air box. Was the oil blue and a little bit sticky?

Gn's use a wet filter (foam one) and I think it uses the same oil as the engine (?). It's never said to put special oil in, it's same colour as the fresh engine oil I use and there are wee tubes going to the engine. (hence my conclusion)

Anyway; look in the air filter, mine had quite a bit of oil pooled in the bottom (has a wee reservoir which I left alone) and get rid of some (if it looks like there is too much),it might stop.
