I'm actually buggered if i know exactly where it's coming from, seems to be a light coat over a few areas, but no major source. Will give it a proper clean and detective look-over at some stage. Might have undertightened the sump plug at her last change maybe.
Choke? What's that?
I've only ever had to use the choke on her once, and even then she was coughing after only about 20 seconds on it.
Yeah, i'll try and duck outta work early tmrw and go to a bike shop. Repco was the only place open by the time i got clear of work and pulled the headlight apart.
Thanks mate, much appreciated!
On another note, she often smells of brakes after a ride, and i'm sure i just saw smoke comin off the front brakes when i arrived home after a 15 minute ride. Hope like hell i'm just bein paranoidWill have to check the pads in the daylight tmrw.

I get that if I use the brake alot in the wet - I asked at the shop to look at it the next day and they told me its normal under heavy braking. What you smell is most probably the dirt and dust being burned in the friction of the pads. It usually smells untill it burns off and then its no problem untill the next time it builds up. I was told its kinda a natural thing. You have a look at the pads just in case. how many Ks on your bike so far badger ?
Could be.
Really? I usually have to use mine when the bikes cold or I'm sitting there a while cranking the engine over.
My front brakes touch the disk slightly (not enough to cook them) but smoke?? This could be a very interesting tour
Also; I've been a bit paranoid when smoking/shitty cars/trucks are nearby; I usually think my bike has caught fire or something when I smell smoke. We're you stuck behind a truckor something on the way home?

Mine normally fires up with just a tickle in the morning. If she doesnt fire first try, give it a couple of seconds and try again. Only one freezing morning have i resorted to the choke.
Nah, it's usually only when i get off and manhandle her into the garage that i smell it. She makes some odd knocks whilst riding tho, for some reason under engine breaks and turning right she makes a knocking sound. But left is fine... I think she's just fuckin with me...![]()

I wish I knew so much about bike mechanics guys. The most mechanical thing Ive done on my bike is lubricating the chain and removing the whole set of fairings.
Even the fairing removing I found out by accident - someone asked me - "have you taken your fairings off and cleaned it from the inside ? "
I was like - "they come off ?"
I really need to tinker with her more but afraid I'll brake some shit and I'll feel like dumb ass due to braking my own bike for nothing. Am I crazy ?![]()

Everyweek I check my carby diafram and clean the dirt (if any) out of it.
Hey guys, the bike seems to have evaporated all the water in battery, refilled that up again and took it to AWNR, still needed to bump start it at first but it got better as the battery charged up. But then not so hot when I left the bar..
I reckon the battery isn't holding it's charge, i'm gonna come anyway and you guys will just have to push my bike around so I can bump start it
You keen?
