Thats funny, I get told the same thing about riding motorbikes.

While smoking is definitely a risky habit, many people have smoked well into their old age and died of other causes.

Cigarettes (tailor made) contain about 5000 different chemicals, many of which are carcinogens or suspected carcinogens. Roll your own tobacco does not contain as many, which is why they tend to self extinguish if left to their own devices. A tailor made will continue to burn till the end due to chemicals which keep them burning. Therefore, IMHO I would say that TM cigarettes are riskier than roll your own or pipe tobacco, but of course both have adverse health consequences.

Not too sure if there is any data on the subject but pipe smoking is considered less dangerous than other tobaccos. This may be a fallacy as I recall that pipe smokers have a higher incidence of cancer of the mouth and throat than cige puffers. Nicotene reguadles of how you smoke it is a poison.

Got some nocotene based weed killer called Black Leaf 40 if you want to tipple.

Dude asks for some simple opinions on pipe vs cigarettes and with the exception of a couple of posts gets a "give it up"/"it'll kill you" wankfest. Are we really living in a society where adults are allowed to make their own choices as to what they do and don't do with their own bodies?

As for the topic, my understanding of pipe smoking is, like cigars, you don't actually inhale. Don't really know much about it, good luck trying to google for some factual information. Just did a few searches and 99% of the results are just opinionated diatribes, particularly on Smoking being a sin.

Just wait til this societal(?) effect starts affecting you moralists, no 100hp+ bikes, no noisey exhausts, etc, etc. Lets also ban premarital sex, think of the health benefits, elimination of teen pregnancies, std reduction. Of course that would mean gay sex would have to be illegal, added benefit aye Moralists?

From memory, pipe smoking leads to I (from memory) throat cancer and if this makes sense tongue cancer or growths of some sort in that region.

Gave it a go today, wasn't very nice, had a funny feeling/taste to it, I would never do it daily, maybe once a fortnight or so.

Had a fancy dress party once and I decided to go out and buy a pipe and some Borkim Riff pipe tobacco.

I'm not a smoker so was just doing it for a laugh.
It was very strong (I had bought the 'Deluxe Mild' variety) much stronger than cigar smoke. I quite liked the taste (I like to have cigars on rare occasions as well) but it definitely makes you stink (much worse than cigars).

The worst thing was not being able to taste anything for about 3 days afterwards.

Anyway, I'm not into smoking that much at all, only did it for a laugh.
Bring on Dec 10th!!!
