Right, I am currently cleaning out my overalls and removing the Racing Stripe from me Undies, Apart from my full time job and the volunteering I do for NZFS, I also volunteer for Motorsport NZ at Pukekohe and also going to be at the Hamihole 400.
Today we had a race meet, in which I was the firefighter in FIV 3 (first intervention vehicle ) we were stationed just after the hairpin, as it happens to be the most exciting part of the track for obvious reasons we saw a fair bit of action throughout the day , in particular the supercar sedans, during the race a falcon went off on top of the hill, we were responded and with the race under safety car and yellow flags ..checked out the driver and arranged for a tow to remove the vehicle, our driver said right lets go and as the paramedic and myself got back into the car there was a screech of brakes an an HQ holden who had been travelling at some speed when he came across the slow cars slid into and along the armco past us and the crashed falcon, god knows how he missed us but it was damn close.
Said driver is now facing a 12 month ban and a fine +lost his first round points....silly man.
Shit better go have a stiff drink to calm the nerves lol.
Oh and Im going to be in charge of one of the pit lane fire crews at the hamihole 400`s, so look out for me those that know what I look like that is..........it be real easy just look for the brown coloured overalls hahahaha
