Not quite mate, on Mythbusters they managed to train goldfish to swim through a maze before they could eat,, took them a week to train them but they could remeber the course, so their memory is more than 5 mins.
"I came into this game for the action, the excitement... go anywhere, travel light,... get in, get out,... wherever there's trouble, a man alone... Now they got the whole country sectioned off; you can't make a move without a form."

Not bad fishing at Port Waikato up near the heads, mainly Kahawai and Trevelly there.

Where ever you fish take a good selection of sinkers and baits as the bait the fish take one day may not work the next time.

If your heading out again sometime I would be kean to tag along, haven't been rock fishing in years Or we could organise a KB Fishing charter
I would actually like somone to go fishing with, it gets a tad boring by yourself. and that I only know one knot to tie my line on.....

im not sure, its pretty big enough (twice my height), hasnt had much use.

im not the best at casting either, but i guess it comes with practice, and since the bike is out of action i'll have all the time i need to go fishing
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

Shame about the bike...will need to catch up on that over some lunch in the cafe...
Im a Thornton/Matata boy myself...might have to head down when full-moons up to catch the Kahawai running. The locals down there will teach you how to cast.

Goat Island is good, all you need is a landing net. You can get a wood pigeon on the way home too if you are patient.

RM: Off the rocks on the west coast is best. Be sure to wear gumboots when on the rocks to keep your feet dry and always watch the cliffs - you don't want anything to fall on you.
Fishing off the rocks is perfectly safe.

Coming from up-harbour, this means West Auckland... so you will be able to catch drunk boaties, upturned canoeists (drunk - true story that - I caught one years ago...), sharks, dead bodies, logs, and industrial waste.

Top end of Muriwai beach is quite pleasant... just remember to check the tides first...

And if you catch something REALLY big, don't bring it back like this:

I realise that not too many people are going to reply with secret location X but some general places to try would be good.

I prefer to fish off rocks, but anywhere is good. also if its a bit of a walk to get there even better
Oh... ok but only because I don't have time to fish these spots any more.

Muriwai, get up really early you want to be fishing at first light for about 2hrs.

South Head, the lagoon entrance. It's about an hours drive and then an hours walk from the carpark.

Takatu point, (no not the reserve!) walk the south? coastline or go right to the top. lots'a good spots to fish and drop your phone in.
Lead, follow or get the f*%! outa the way.
