    Surfcasting

I need to go fishing more often. The only place I have tried is murawhi off the rocks (no luck). Anyone know any places [with in 1.5hr drive of auckland] that would be a good place to go fish? I realise that not too many people are going to reply with secret location X but some general places to try would be good.

I prefer to fish off rocks, but anywhere is good. also if its a bit of a walk to get there even better
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

The sandbank out near te atatu peninsula. You need to walk out at low tide, and just keep in mind that you may need to stay out there until the next low tide.

    and watch for stingrays. crikey!

All the places on the Coromandel such as Pauanui and Whitianga have OK fishing from the wharves and a few places and decent from the beach too. Hahei's quite a nice beach to surfcast.

get 4 of your mates and hire my boat from Mangawhai Heads Dive and Tackle store. Catch more fish than off the rocks.

Don't go surfcasting. It can get pretty slippery.

Yep what he said, same at end of Jellicoe St by the tank farm. In fact quite surprising what can be had from the inner harbour in late summer evenings, esp. high tide running out.

How can you not catch anything off the rocks at Muriwai? I've never had a bad day out there.

Not bad fishing at Port Waikato up near the heads, mainly Kahawai and Trevelly there.

Where ever you fish take a good selection of sinkers and baits as the bait the fish take one day may not work the next time.

If your heading out again sometime I would be kean to tag along, haven't been rock fishing in years Or we could organise a KB Fishing charter
