Wanted: FZR1000 or Thunderace Clutch Basket

    Hi fellow 2 wheel specialists,

I need a donor clutch basket to use in my YZF conversion.
I am prepared to buy a whole clutch just for the primary gear off the basket if I have to.
As long as the primary gear is good the rest can be damaged - and they are prone to explode.
Non EXUP is OK as they are all the same 87 on.

    Regards
    Cousin gerald

I've got one - one of the spring posts is broken but is repairable - I was thiking of putting a countersunk screw in from the back, and doing the opposite one to maintain balance. AFAIK the gear is ok. (87 or thereabouts FZ750 but it appeared identical to the FZR1000. If any use, PM me to haggle
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

Bob, pics attached of the clutch, showing the broken spring post. Other info that may be relevant. The primary gear is 14 mm wide, and has 91 teeth.
FWIW, the six speed trans out of this engine was a drop in swap for the (knackered) five speed in an 87 FZR 1000 - all bearings, etc exactly the same size, so I'm assuming (didn't do a back to back comparison) that the clutch is the same

have a broken post in my clutch pack
It was repaired by using a large alloy rivit
a second rivit was placed opp for balance
it works but there is a vibration at 4000rpm - 5000rpm not an uncomfortable one but you know its there

    Hi,

I checked and the 1000's have a 68 tooth primary drive gear vs your 91 so it's no go bro.
    But thanks for checking though!

    Regards
