What the hell is a "Radio Station"?
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

Radio broadcasting is an audio (sound) broadcasting service, traditionally broadcast through the air as radio waves (a form of electromagnetic radiation) from a transmitter to an antenna and a thus to a receiving device. Stations can be linked in radio networks to broadcast common programming, either in syndication or simulcast or both. Audio broadcasting also can be done via cable FM, local wire networks, satellite and the Internet.

The earliest radio stations were simply radiotelegraphy systems and did not carry audio. The first claimed audio transmission that could be termed a broadcast occurred on Christmas Eve in 1906, and was made by Reginald Fessenden. While many early experimenters attempted to create systems similar to radiotelephone devices where only two parties were meant to communicate, there were others who intended to transmit to larger audiences. Charles Herrold started broadcasting in California in 1909 and was carrying audio by the next year.

For the next decade, radio tinkerers had to build their own radio receivers. KDKA AM of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (owned by Westinghouse) started broadcasting as the first licensed "commercial" radio station on November 2, 1920[citation needed]. The commercial designation came from the type of license—they didn't start airing advertisements until a few years later. The first broadcast was the results of the U.S. presidential election, 1920. The Montreal station that became CFCF-AM began program broadcasts on May 20, 1920, and the Detroit station that became WWJ began program broadcasts beginning on August 20, 1920, although neither held a license at the time.

    Shall I continue?

It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)

Im a fan of Solid Gold mostly down here. I'd listen to Radio Hauraki but its only AM down here and sounds like crap.

If Solid Gold is playing crap I generally flick over to the Rock for a song or two then back to Solid Gold.

Obviously there is a % of the population that tolerate it for it to have continued so long, but all the Shazzas shouting at me in their 'unique radio voices' every 15 minutes on commercial radio drove me away from it.

I'd be sitting here working and all of a sudden I'm thinking STFU Shazza.

Radio stations suck! They play the same songs over and over again so even if there is a diamond in the rough you soon get sick of it.
If I do listen to radio I love inferno 107 in dunedin, sweet punk and rock including some local bands, though again they do play the same songs over and over.

Seems like a lot of people listen to the Rock - it must be Rog's Laugh (Oh dear god, I can feel my ears bleeding already)

I think we need a new tread - the most annoying sounds in the world...
