What sort of keyring to not scratch paint?

Ok so being completely precious about my new bike, I was wondering how you guys deal with this issue.
My ignition is down by my left thigh on the bike and if I put a key ring onto the key I am concerned it will scratch the paintwork. What does everyone else use? leather? rubber? any other ideas? I would love to be able to carry my house keys on my bike keys but not sure of the best way to do this.
ps..i have a leather one that wraps around my seat lock key at present

Put 'Scuff-Stuff' clear vinyl stick-on coating in the area likely to be rubbed by keys etc.
But I wouldn't recommend too many keys on the ring - the excess weight has been known to bugger-up the ignition switch.

Or did I miss the pointless drivel part of it??

Got all my keys and a wooden keyring on mine as I'm not worried about scratched paint.

I didn't know where else to put it? I thought me being precious about my paintwork was a bit of pointless drivel.
Mods feel free to move it if there is somewhere more suitable for it.

my ignition is the same... i have my steering lock and ignition keys on one ring, and my house keys on another which stays in my pocket. some of the paint is chipped away, but not from my keys... the previous owners i think would have had big bunches of keys.
i also freaked about losing them while riding, so i stuck a HUGE mcdonalds soft toy on the ring so i could feel it.

    correct.

i keep my other keys (house, car, disk lock, handcuffs) on a key ring in my pocket, i have a caribiner clip on there too so i can clip my bike key on there when its not in use.

the best idea is not to have heavy bunches of keys that you either use on your bike or in a car ignition as it damages the barrel so ive been told, plus its damn dangerous on a bike!

i ride with bike key and house key on my key ring my tank is to far away to worry about scratching the paint. plus its only a 250 it adds to the rustic used and abused look

    turn, push, VOOM

Esp on R6 or CB900, it really do looks like a built-in switch

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

    +1
Except I don't have a disc lock. Or handcuffs
I've got a really little carabiner (40mm long), so it doesn't make the bunch of keys too huge.
