Hun Im SO sorry you have had to make this decision
1098 is on my 'wish' list. I'd love to take it off your hands, and keep it in the family as suchbut unable at this point. Unless you wanna swap it for my crappy car
Best of luck with the sale.

No, I would probably not use it to it's full potential - I doubt anyone would, least of all on the road...
I'd use it though, and neither with a velvet glove nor an iron fist - but with the same respect I'd offer any other awesome piece of mechanical engineering![/QUOTE]
Good news....then perhaps one day IF you ever grow up from a 'boy' and become a 'man' you may get your chance![]()
Ducatis are gay![]()
Respect? Awesome? C'mon. Bikes are for raping.
They are machines for turning petrol into awesomeness.
When they are not serving that function, they might as well be paperweights.
Some of them are good-looking paperweights, of course, but for $30,000 I'd rather... um...
Yeah, I'd probably just buy a 1098, come to think of it.

Thank you!
Hmmm, well if you start evaluating a rider only on his experience and the price of his bike (which you apparently don't know) I think you're going to miss the point.
My mentality wouldn't change whether the bike cost $500 or $5,000,000 - in Denmark you'd be hard pressed to buy a new SV1000 for under $30k so I'm sorry if the price tag doesn't make me fall down panting in and of itself!
I don't know what your approach to biking is - but for me it's about having fun and learning at the same time. I absolutely enjoy that buzz I get when I'm 100% focused on doing just one thing... I guess for some it's about proving something to themselves and others - not for me though. So even if I could prove that to you I wouldn't bother trying...
It's so nice to see that you know me so well.
Don't mind me if I try to retain a measure of youth for a while yet. You know that thing where you don't judge people, are open to new ideas and like having fun...
I'd argue you can rape a bike with respectI think that imdying was feeling some compassion for my 250 the last time we went to the track...
It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)

Trust me, this was not an easy decision for me to make. If it doesn't sell, I certainly won't be upset about it.
Honda? Yeah whatever mate - each to their own, live and let live etc etc. I don't bag your ride / choices - don't bag mine.
I am a lady of taste and discernment, ergo I bought a Ducati - you are welcome to your three Honda Hornets.
Ha ha ha - I wish!!
No. If that is what I meant then that is what I would have said.
LOL - you may see it yet! Just with a different owner
It is a dream bike - a dream to own and a dream to ride...
No - go buy your own
Thank you and no I didn't test ride it before I bought it either!!
Ha ha ha Heard of 'throttle control'???But I can tell you that it wheelies effortlessly in every gear...
Thanks heaps Doll. This has been a really tough decsion for me to make as you know, (well I have made it a thousand times in the last 4 months so you would think that it would get easier over time eh!? lol) and I have bored everyone near and dear to me to tears as I gave voice to my internal arguments, but sometimes you just have to get your head out of the sand (or your arse in some cases) and look at the reality of the situation.
I sure as hell won't cry if it doesn't sell that is for sure and I veeeery nearly pulled the ads last night!!! So all bets are on as to whether I will replace it - and if so will it be with a cruiser??
Everyone has an opinion....
Its not all about you ya' know - I am trying to sell a bike here - do ya' mind?![]()

Ah, that'll be why it's only got 1,500 on the clock; you need to get out of bed, put your leathers on and ride it in real life.
In all seriousness, perhaps you should consider replacing it with something that doesn't obviously intimidate you.
kiwifruit flogged his F4-1000 and bought an R1 for precisely that reason; he wasn't enjoying riding around on a work of art.
And now he has much more fun.
Perhaps you shouldn't be so quick to bag the Hornet owners?
I understand the temptation to splurge, but simply being middle-aged and fat-walleted should not make anyone feel obligated to rush out and buy a 150hp Italian superbike.
(Without even test-riding one! That says a lot, really.)
But only some of us are lucky enough to have an opinion and a garage ornament?

That's a pretty good deal, muffler kit with upgraded ECU and all - ready for the track day!
When I grow up I'm going to buy one of these, very nice bike!
Good luck!

Mnay thanks for your opinion.
The facts if you care to take them on board are that I bought this bike after I had had an accident and three months off work.
Obviously I intended to ride the bike once I healed or I would not have spent that much money. In fact that was one of my motivators for gettign back on my feet, back to work and out riding.
I have not managed to recover from my accident (and may not do until I have an operation to recifity) and am grieved that my beautiful bike is garaged whilst I hobble around everywhere.
Thank you very much for your empathy and for your understanding.
PS I didn't bag his choice of Honda - he bagged my choice. I am actually a previous Honda owner myself and have no problem with whatever bike choices other people make. It is entirely their decsion to make and whatever gives them the most fun, enjoyment, satisfaction etc etc..
