    Advice for 98 cbr900 fairing?

I have a 1998 cbr900rr in tiger colour scheme (metallic orange tank, large decals on fairing). It fell over on the right side and I had a low speed off on the left. On both sides the fairing is cracked near the bottom and the decals are scratched. The engine covers are also scratched.

To fix the fairing and replace the decals is expensive. Plus I heard the decals might not be available. I also want to trade up later in the year (newer fireblade model).

What's the best way to deal with the fairing to help the resale value. Leave it and take a hit on the sale price, get a whole replacement fairing from ebay (cost $800->$1200) or forget the decals and just repaint the whole thing, or ?

I've been riding it with a few pieces of duct tape over the cracks for a few months.

Dump the fairing and turn it into a street fighter - oh yeah.

    .
It's an old bike. You'd be nuts spending that much fixing it up unless you were keeping it for yourself. You'll never recoup half of what you'll spend on an aftermarket fairing. Fibreglass it up, get the cheap spraypaint out and carry on enjoying the bike.

Go get a price from reflections or similar ,crazyfox in Wellington does a good job , its worth getting aprice ,id much rather by abike with the original plastics on it. dont put those chinese shit fairings on it , my mate bought a set they just dont line up , poor fit ,cracked it putting them on , , paints alright till it cracks round the bolt holes (they dont prime them just main coat ) I surpose you get what you pay for with those cheap shit fairings.
