Help with Changing a Dash Light

I'm trying to change a blown speedo light on my Yamaha, but cant figure out how to get it out. See below for where I'm at - pulling and turning dont seem to get this out, but perhaps there's a trick to it? Any advice would be excellent. Thanks.

looks just like a rubber insert into the speedo, just pull it out... not by the wires...

I've tried pulling and turning, and it doesn't want to come out. I've even torn the grommet a little bit I'm now thinking I might need to go in the other way, and undo thee two screws (see below). But I'm worried that this will compromise the speedo/odo - should I unscrew these?

Never mind, but needed to put some balls (read, pliers) into pulling it off. Fixed.

The irony of being schooled on "smarts" by someone who can't spell or use grammar is just delicious.
