Angry Back fire on SD 900 Darmah

Can anyone help, My Darmah backfires when backing off the throttle on the front cylinder, I have checked for leaks and found none, have replaced the main jet and needle in the carb as it was worn and I thought this might be causing the back fire because of residue in the carb.. Any idea's what to try next.

My 750GT used to backfire on the overrun - It was the exhaust pipe retaining flange/nut was slightly loose and not sealing the front header - just enough to suck in a bit of air on the overrun and cause the backfire. Drove me mad over about 3 months until I tracked it down and finally fixed it!
