Well, my bike was in the shop for almost 2 months. Then I got it back (thankfully) for the sprints weekend, but alas it went back into the shop on the monday. I refrained, and will continue to do so, from posting on the site what the problems were, since I've learnt my lesson from the first time.
I got the bike back yesterday, and so far everything looks ok. The front brakes were making a slight squeeking noise, but only once, and they seem fine now. Holding thumbs! She looks and feels as good as new(EDIT- No major problems btw, only minor cosmetic issues luckily-EDIT)
But, as life has proven a certainty over the past years, I have another problem now. I signed a 1 year lease with a "friend" of mine, to rent the house I'm currently staying in. 5 months into the lease, he up and left back to the UK, and left me trying to find a new flatmate. He said he would pay rent to the end of November, but I've found that he stopped paying halfway through Nov, making HIS share of the rent in arrears. I have been advertising, but not one person has been interested. It is the wrong time of year to be looking, and the rent is too expensive, even though I have tried lowering it, by ME paying more. There is NO bloody way I can afford his rent aswell, so now I've had to give the landlord a letter (because I can't fucking talk anymore, you have no idea how frustrating that is), and go see him after work today. He is a reasonable guy, but I'm not sure if he'll just let me leave. I know I can, and may have to lodge a case with tennancy services, who will then send out a mediator, and failing that, take it to the tennancy tribunal. They will, in the end, most likely let me out of the lease since the circumstances were unforseen, but it's such a nightmare and it may take a while, making the rent owing build up.
I've still got the debt of my ludicrous excess, 2 new tyres and a recent major car service to wade through. Not to mention, at the moment anyway, I really hate my job, but can't leave because I can't get paid elsewhere what I get paid here.
All I can say is thank God that I have my bike back, because the only thing I find relaxing is going for a nice, long ride. Speaking of which, after gym after work yesterday, I went for a nice ride over to featherston. The Takas were dead quiet, I think I even saw a few tumbleweeds blowing around (Was hard work dodging the cattle skulls on the road!!!). Was a little windy, and was even too cold for ME to stay longer than 5 mins at the top (I don't get cold easily, something about my body insulates the heat, for the life of me I can't think what).
Hopefully this rent issue will get sorted out soon. I will then move into a place, on my OWN, asap. It is hard to find a cheaper place WITH a garage, or some place to store a bike.....
