    home job sliders

    Hi Guys, first post.
I've been riding for a while now and just bought a 1 piece leather suit to save my ass if the worst happens.
the suit I bought doesnt have much plastic where you need it and i dont think it is going to last very long.
Does anyone know how I could do a bit of a home job to attatch some sliders.
I was thinking just sew some velcro on, it wouldent look that nice but it might work.
    any ideas will be apreciated.
    thanks.

I've seen sew-on sliders working ok, but the worrying thing is it sounds like the suit itself isn't going to last long??

I know someone who had a decent set of touring leathers and had the velcro sewn on - works fine, but wasn't that cheap, so in my opinion, if you're on a budget, keep your eyes on trademe and get something decent secondhand with sliders already on...

    Hope that helps

You know, you can get pretty far with a D.I.Y. job on the knee sliders.

Some of the sitching I've seen on sliders are pretty shoddy but then again I wouldn't know because I've never tried sewing my own knee sliders.

Give it a go bro and perhaps you could try attaching a piece of metal too?

I reckon you should be able to just take it to a shop that does leather repair and get them to sew on some velcro - doesn't really matter how it looks 'cos it'll be covered up by the slider. You'll find sewing leather quite difficult to do yourself - you need a special leather needle which peirces the leather, an industrial machine just to have the omph to get through the layers, and a special presser foot, a normal one will just grip the leather on top and as a result the feed dogs will tear away underneath instead of feeding the fabric through like they're designed to do.
You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say will be quoted out of context, then used against you.

the suit is a good shift one, just no sliders

sounds like a good idea to go to a leather repair shop, does anyone know of any good shops in the auckland or northshore area?

go to the warehouse and buy some knee pads skaters use. just put them on after the leathers. they actually work. ask magua
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot
