I went in to buy a pair of those Shift Jeans. But after looking at the pathetic Kevlar covering (Tiny portion on the knees, and a tiny portion on the ass) I was mortified into splashing out $240 on Draggins and I REGRET IT.

I should have got some Sliderz, as they're *nearly* half the price, just as safe and far better looking! My Draggins are baggy as hell and probably less safe because of it - why the fuck do pant makers think that since you've got a 38 inch wasit you're automatically 8 feet tall?!

AS YOU CAN SEE - QUASiMOTO Sliderz have an equivalent protective area of Kevlar as the Draggin Jeans.

Have a pair of Shift jeans that i wear when not requiring my leathers. Very comfortable and provide adequate protection, four years old now and still in top condition. However, if i was replacing them i would shop with Quasi as he has great products and supports the biking community.

A question for Quasi - any chance of making them in black?

    Not quite off-topic, maybe?

My Teknic's are great but Quasi's and Draggin have a little more coverage with the kevlar.

Main issue for me is something casual enough for work and the Teknic fits the bill. Of course then they're a bit baggy which doesn't help if you hit the deck.

Hence why they're strictly round-town use only.

    I got Teknics.

    Regret it.

Will be saving some coin, hanging my head humbly, and visiting Quasi...

    U sure 'bout that ??
I'm 5 1/2 feet tall, 34" waist and haven't been able to buy pants to fit (i.e. without shortening the leg by 6 - 8 inches) for fcuking years !!

Seems weird. I'm 30"/77cm, 5'11", and I always have to get things shortened. Are you some kind of giant string-bean man?

shortening is ok, it used to be considered the norm in tailoring.... but that was way back when everyones wife/mother had a sewing machine and knew how to use it... try and find a modern girl who knows how to sew let alone owns an overlocker!

Yea but the problem with shortening Kevlar jeans is that the knee protection will sit a lot lower than it's supposed to. When I stand my knee kevlar starts below/inline with my kneecap and finishes around low-shin. Not good, plus they're more likely to bunch and ride up if I'm sliding feet first.

That's right, I'm 5'11 with a 38" waist, with 38" Draggins and the legs are about 20cm too long.

I'm not all that impressed with my Draggins TBH - hopefully I wont ever have to crash test them.

I bought a pair of Draggins recently (would have considered Quasi jeans but I picked up my Levis at noon the day before Paeroa and realised they'd fallen apart - no time for nowt but a quick trip to Motomail) and had to get them adjusted that same day (yes, it all involved quite a bit of rushing about).

I don't think I've ever bought a pair of pants that were the right length, even back in the halcyon days when I had a 32" waist. I think trouser manufacturers just make them long so that they'll fit all comers, and expect shorter gents to get them adjusted as a matter of course.

Draggin will do custom lengths no problem.
I got mine off TradeMe and if they were 6 inches longer it'd be great but as they fit on the outside of road boots and I wear MX boots and tuck them in it's not a problem.
