maybe this is so, but then you have to let them put their finger in ur ass, tell you what religion you must be, what software to run on your computer, and a whole lot of other shit too. Just say no.

Well it involves residential lines, "freedom", call diversion, another phone provider, free PBX software and a gateway with 2 FXO ports.

Unless you are on a wireless system you're not gonna get away from being part of the Telecom network.Even then at some point you have to be joined back into it,thru the cloud.ADSL2 sometimes doesn't make a difference in speed unless you get your port reprofiled through a helpdesk that knows about this sort of thing.

    Bang on the buck!

Theoretically speaking "soft" ports should be reset and profiled for ADSL2 if that's what you're running on.

Walk. Go elsewhere. Build your own infrastructure. Own your own network. It's not rocket science.

Now we're talking in very realistic terms, what are you ? A little one band arym who will destroy Telecom overnight ?

    Wakey wakey bud.

Whilst it's a good move in some accounts, it doesn't solve all problems, especially in the Conquiztador's case.

Sorry dude I don't quite understand what you're getting at aye. For everyone in the country to build their own network and work on their own?

Where in the world is that model working successfully?

No, I have no intentions of starting something of my own. Not what we are in to. But all this has made me look at the industry closer. And learning some interesting stuff. The outcome here will be that I will swap my private setup first. And soon! Then later in the year when my current contract with Telecom expires and is up for renewal I have all the info I need to make a good decision. And as I have already decided not to sign up with Telecom again, I will put together the best possible solution in regards to costs and service. Just by what I have seen so far we should be able to cut our costs with over 30%. And that is 1/2 a yearly wage for someone... But costs are not the main issue here, so more research is needed.

May the bridges I burn light the way.

I didn't build myself a wireless ISP business for money, I did it for fun. It is not important to me whether it makes bucketloads - just that I find it amusing, and I get to help people out who are at their wits end - as in this case.

Now that I know the technology, I can show people how to solve their immediate problems.. As in this case, there is an immediate and obvious solution evident to me that will solve the problem and lower his strong feelings, which is what I like to do.

So thats my mission in life I guess - leading people to water. It was very hard giving up on the idea that I could do more than that.

I like your avatar pic very much indeed.

The only thing I can say is good luck, the chances of you switching your fairly large account back to Telecom within 12 months is quite high. Just statically speaking that's all.

I noticed Orcon just introduced unbundled plans for the first time yesterday. go to orcon website, type your phone number in and see if you can get the unbundled plans. The platinum+ plan might be what you are looking for.
I have deep pockets. It's just that it's a deep empty pocket...........

his problem is the shitty ADSL to his property. Changing ISP (over the same wire) will quite likely do nothing it all - he needs an alternative to his ADSL line.

Cool to see Orcon up front doing the trailblazing tho. Good on them.
