Grow some nads deviant and put it on tardme for a dollar reserve. I put the CR on that I crapped off but there was nothing wrong with it, ended up with almost what I'd payed for it. I was quite stocked considering how much abuse I'd given it (a suzuki would have never survived, I know, I've done it to 2 rm mx bikes also). Just let me know whenyou put the shitter on 4 $1R and I'll make sure you get a grand, even if I have to ship it up, pour petrol over it and have a bbqed nz250...

Hey dude. Bring your parents over to see the bike if they're agreeable to it - this 250 definitely isn't 'too big and powerful'... not sitting next to my ZX-6R anyway! They'll take a look at the difference between the two bikes and think the wee NZ is a perfect beginner bike

Another method to make them feel a bit better is to say that you're interested in getting some tuition - a fair number of motorbike accidents could be avoided with more experience. Or you could say you're getting it to help with the price of fuel - this one sure is cheap to run! I can help you get insurance on it too... cost me less than $200 a year full cover when I was under 25 on my learners.

If you're quite keen and don't want to miss out I'll try to hang on to it for a bit to give you some time, but naturally I can't guarantee it. I've had a couple of nibbles since it's gone on trademe which is good (from my point of view). Maybe you could bowl over, see it, have a sit on it, hear it going, see what you think. I've got a spare lid so we could even go around the block two up if you want
