Thanks I will get valve clearance done
how long does it take to lose power?
does it happen every time you are cruising or is it random?
when it loses power what happens when you give it a handful?
when it happens do you just burble along at a slower pace until it sorts itself out?
sounds fuel related, diaphram maybe, how many miles on the bike?

In fairness to Botany Honda problems of an intermittent nature can be very difficult to diagnose.
The mechanic could go for a ride but his riding style may be different from yours and the problem doesnt show up for him. There are a myriad of things which "could" cause this problem.
    good luck

It doesnt cut out completely but the sound muffles and they is no throttle there or anything for about 1 minute, a few times I have had to pull off the motorway and come to a stand still, then itll clear.

I think its def a fuel system issue of sorts

Can anyone shed some loght on this?

This is exactly whats happening to mine! Can you remember what the issue was??
