I got home this afternoon to find Jack had left me a seat as payment for services rendered...choice I thought.I was just measuring it up to see how much I had to cut off the rear to fit my bike - and he rolled up and just took it away.WTF???

Nah,happy to help mate.I don't know much about modern multi cyl bikes - but multi point EFI and COP ign are pretty familiar to me,so was picking my way though it.The puff of smoke had a distinctive acrid smell, and I couldn't quite place it....but it was burning resin from the coil.I've never seen an ign coil actually blow up.There had been water down the plug tube too...maybe that was something to do with it.

Saw the bike on the back of a ute go past work today,so figured everything was under control.

If this is indeed the same fault as earlier, (frying ign coil), then someone contact him, and get him to check all earth straps/wires.
Triumphs have a bit of a reputation world wide for cooking coils, and one of the common causes is poor neg contact.
Check/roughen/clean all coil earth wires also.
    Hope this helps.
