Not at all, i've probably signed over 100 different online petitions, but i've also never seen any change come about due to those petitions. Real paper petitions, yes, just not online ones.

Just a little jaded, that's all.

Fair enough.. I would still sign it tho im sure TVNZ are looking for as many ways as possible to make freeview more popular considering they are announcing in 2012 when analog TV will be turned off for good.
