But, Oz v NZ, Perth gets seriously hot...........like flames everywhere kinda hot. Things you pick up in the street have a tendency to kill you, and everywhere is so far from everywhere else that you spend more time travelling than enjoying.

For us in the UK, the European experiment has gone too far. We have a system of government whereby what Brussels dictates we have to abide by. Our Parliament is a rubber stamp for the Euro-lunacy that spews across the Channel.
For the last 12 years auditors have refused to sign off the accounts, what does that tell you? Our MPs are crying because they have been found to have their snouts so deep into the trough.

I know that NZ has its problems and maybe we will become disillusioned but we've got to get away from this European madhouse.

Anyway, from the hours you work I take it you are self employed then Jim?
    What do you do?

    Kev,

It was the soon to be Union of European Socialist Republics that was my primary driver for leaving the UK and relocating to NZ.

All you need now is Albania and Isreal to join, plus the former Russian Republics. No thanks mate.

No I'm not self employed but may be soon so I can reduce my hours. I work in IT in the Windows Server Support area and like everything in NZ it is done with a minimum of staff and a "she'll be right - if you losers work harder" type approach. FOrget best practice and proactive infrastructure management, it's all a reactive blind panic.

You came to the wrong place.

You guys realise it is now illegal to criticise the Government in any way, in a published form without registering your political "interest" for a substantial fee, don't you? If you start a website taking the piss (you know, political satire like what you fellas invented with "Punch" in the 19th century), your website will be shut down and I think the fine is $10,000.

This is an established Socialist Constitutional Monarchy. The lack of human rights evident in the Westminster Parliamentary system gives a brilliant platform for any Socialist dictator (I'm actually running a risk with this post) to impose regulations that limit freedom of movement and speech in ways that NZers are too blase and lazy to notice or do anything about.

I'm starting to view a country that will happily kill civilians for oil and still actively discriminates against it's "aboriginal" population without batting an eye as a better place to live.

The Looney labourite sect will impose some more taxes to prevent this in the future.
Expect to need resource consent and a full OSH safety plan to be able to go onto any of those rocks in the future.
    Damn dangerous activity!

Haha yeh but you wait - 100 years on they haven't fixed any of the small problems.
Like a good 3 year old with a vivid, millions of small problems is all you need to fuck your house - and us kiwis are good at wrecking stuff on our own.

Yep I guess there a few whingers in NZ but I do think they are of old English stock and have never realy come to grips with the true essence of being a laid back New Zealander

As Rob M once said New Zealanders moving to Oz raises the IQ of both countries
    to old to die young
