If I had to buy a new 250 and had $7k to spend, I'd seriously consider getting a new VTR250. They're about $8k and will offer a good resale if looked after properly.

cheers for the replys its not for me i got my "full" in 1975 and ride a 1000cc vtwin but my boys bike was playing up (again) the other day and i dont really want to spend any money on fixing it even though its come right again i paid a grand for it and its probably cost nearly that much again and is realistacly worth $1300 tops but we will see if the old girl can keep going.
