Calling a ride a 'carnage ride' - yeah enjoy the giant cheese grater that is the road..

is this an invite to other riders or a warning?

Extremely busy bit of road at Easter also.
Just take it easy guys, I'm already visiting one "Kawhia Rd" casualty (Greeradv) at Waikato Base.
Don't push the corners this weekend.

Harbour Rd bridge is still officially closed. (and will remain so for another 2-3mths apparently). Hope to take get a few trail bikes over it at the end of the month.
Info passed on to me via John at Oparau shop/servo.

    Bit of an update.

Okay, the "official" word is the bridge is closed mkay.
But if need be, certain two wheeled vehicles, and small four wheelers are risking a crossing.
Besides that, be very wary of loose pea metal on freshly sealed sections either side of the bridge.
    Enjoy your break.

The bridge had had a good life. (since 1909)
Repairs should start 25/3, and take till late June-July.
The original Kauri struts below the water just couldn't handle the upgrade work so I've been told.
Engineers, pfft, everything works on paper aye.
Park a 40tonne crane on an old single lane bridge, and idle it all day, and something might just give.
