I got buzzed by a jet fighter today, I hav'nt got a clue what it was, but from looking at pictures it may have been an f14.
It took off from woodbourne airbase just after lunch, did a circuit of the plains, then fucked off at full notes RIGHT OVER THE MOUNTAIN I WAS WORKING 0N TOP OF, fuck it was loud, do any of you lot know for sure what it was?

the government should recommission the Skyhawks, even if its for no yse other than to boost the moral of all the petrol-heads out there

Was climbing Tongariro mid winter when we heard a rumble. First thing we thought was eruption, as it was really loud. Then out of nowhere two skyhawks came up the valley and our level beside us on the mountain.

Those were the days.

They've been retired but the scrapping process isn't finished.

They're scrapping them so Iran can't get their hands on the bits, so everything is being cut up into little chunks and melted.

The tooling was destroyed in ther '90s once the retirement decision was made so they ran out of parts fairly quickly.

my cousin used to work on the skyhawks when he was in the airforce, he reckoned they used to bring them in regularly with grass hanging out of the flaps and stuff, thats how close to the tops of hills they are getting.

The Skyhawks are stored here, outside, I see them parked up most days

sweet, I heard it take off, and thought "thats a jet fighter, we don't have any of those" and waited for it to come out from behind the hill, I reckon I could have thrown my hammer and knocked the fucker down, it was that close to me.....

Yes they are swing wing. They are also huge, so he was probably 100m higher than you thought he was.

Yup its a swing wing....Also knowen as the Ardvark. There were a couple of Vampires floating about to...all getting ready for Warbirds.
Im Ex-Airforce......used to be based at Whenuapai.......always had the ozzys coming over for a visit, specially when 2 Squadren was based at Nowra in Oz.
The Sqwarks are all sitting on the tarmac or in one of the hangers on Woodbourne, see them every day at work....crying shame...all because of that monkey fucker of a she male hitler clarke. Its because of her and her fucked up views I left the Air force and went to Oz....as a lot of us did....the MUTT.

They always seem to attack Benmore Hydro dam on their exercises or on their way past.

Shit they are big, loud and fast and make one hell of a noise.
