Help please! Any chicks ride a ZX636R?

Hey gals,

I know I know... The only way to find out is to test ride it yourself... But I'm really keen on a 2006 ZX636R that is 5 hours away. My biggest concern is that it is going to be too big for me height wise, Im 164 cm's, I'm hoping to see it next week... but it would really help ease my mind if any chicks on here are about my height, have been on one before and could give me a rough indication of the size of them??

Hi Jas.. Is that the same as a ZX6R???? IF it is.. chic 'n' charge (in ChCh) has one.. she'd be bout your height too..

I took the 07 zx6r out for a blat, it was not too bad Im 1.65 and yea the seat designs are quite narrow on the later models so you will be fine.

Do you know how they found the height? Were they only on one foot at a time, tip toes, balls of feet or flat foot?

I am wanting to get out there and try them but Taupo bike stores don't stock the kinda bikes I'm lookin at... And no zx636's

May not be quite relevent, but I'm 170cm and had no problems on a Ninja 600 back in the late 80s. Bikes have gotten smaller and lighter since then so I guess you'll be fine. Good luck!

Jas... please dont fall into the mindset of "I cant ride it if I cant flat foot on it". You can own any sized bike and ride it well even if you cant touch the ground flat foot. There's nothing wrong with a slight tippy toe at the lights as long as you keep it balanced.

Try all the different bikes you possibly can and ride them with confidence. Size and upper body strength have nothing to do with being able to ride a modern bike. You are young and can easily adapt to ANY size bike. Please dont let seat height and weight put you off. Most of all...Have fun test riding!

No, not in my experience! Fark Im hardly a big woman and holding any sized bike upright has never been a problem for me. Being female has no relevance either.
Look at Shaun Harris. Im roughly the same height as him and look what he can do on ANY bike!

You only need to be able to securely touch the ground with 1 foot, which can be done by moving your arse sideways on the seat. I know I'm not a short arse but keeping a big adventure bike with a seat height close to 1m upright on slippery ground and in wind when stopping and starting isn't hard at all. It's just a confidence thing.
